Barbara Byrne Denham is a Senior Economist in the research and economics department at Reis, the team responsible for the firm’s market forecasting, valuation, and portfolio analytics services. Prior to Reis, Barbara served as Chief Economist at Eastern Consolidated where she spearheaded the research effort and wrote a series of white papers and market reports on the commercial real estate market and New York City economy. Before joining Eastern Consolidated, Barbara served as Research Manager at Jones Lang LaSalle where she wrote periodic reports and other white papers on New York City’s real estate market. Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Barbara created the New York STAT, an economic newsletter for New York City after serving as Research Director at Colliers ABR. Barbara’s original research has appeared in a number of journals including The Real Estate Finance Journal. Her white papers and assessments of market conditions have appeared in international publications like The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Financial Times and Crain’s New York Business. Barbara has also appeared on Bloomberg TV. Barbara has been a member of NYCREW and serves on the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget economic advisory committee. Barbara is a Ph.D. candidate in economics at New York University and holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
