Asking and effective rents for neighborhood and community shopping centers fell, by 0.5% and 0.6%, respectively. This can be at least partially explained by the fact that these retail subtypes include the types of centers that have groceries and pharmacies as anchor tenants, and therefore experienced a boost in demand as households began to stock up.
